The original SUPAGRIND location in Melbourne, Australia; as we remember fondly.
Deeply rooted in wonder and curiosity, our love for quality coffee began with a working holiday to Melbourne, Australia. Previously, we had understood that percolated drip coffee from a local fast food chain was not the metaphorical glass ceiling of what coffee could be, but we had no idea just how much could go into creating the perfect morning brew.
While in Melbourne from 2017 to 2018, we routinely walked past the same café with a “walk-thru” window for local businesspeople and commuters heading to the train station nearby. This café, known as SUPAGRIND, became a beacon of light at the start of our day and a stop we eagerly anticipated on our way to each day's responsibilities.
Fast forward to 2019, back in our hometown in Ontario, Canada; we found ourselves with a void in our hearts that needed filling. Shortly after returning home, we purchased our first home espresso machine, the Breville Barista Express, which is still going strong five years later.
Through various YouTube tutorials, trips to local roasters, and genuine curiosity, we now make our morning brews using many different methods and recipes. We are always experimenting with new tools to learn how to brew coffee in the most fun and interesting ways, while never forgetting our first true love: espresso.
